Ciurtin & Associates Law Firm wins Financial Times trophy for innovative projects in Energy

Ciurtin & Associates was appointed Law Firm of the Year for Innovations in Energy Projects in the Romanian Magazine of Consultancy Awards Gala, produced with the support of the prestigious publication Financial Times. The Trophy was awarded to Mr. Ciurtin in recognition of his and his colleagues merits in engaging in innovative activities both within the country and abroad. In his public acceptance, Adrian Ciurtin first of all thanked his partner Flaviu ​​Nanu, to the team in Romania he operates with, his colleagues from Zurich and Tel-Aviv offices and to clients without which the innovative aspect of the projects developed would have not existed. Mr. Ciurtin also thanked the financial institutions supporting innovative activities in energy projects abroad, such as Exim Bank, Oesterreichische Kontrollbank etc. Moreover, representatives of such institutions were present at the Gala held under the auspices of Financial Times. Adrian Ciurtin encouraged his colleagues in the Romanian legal market to follow his course and go on the new trend imposed by his law firm, other than the traditional one. It's about capturing unlimited opportunities in the abroad legal market. Mr. Ciurtin enhanced that elite lawyers in Romania are in fact the elite of the same guild worldwide and that Romanian lawyers are highly trained to compete with their colleagues abroad.The success of Ciurtin & Associates law firm is mainly based on the impeccable coordination and collaboration with Ecovis team in various jurisdictions worldwide for over 10 years. Bioenergy Suceava Project

Project description: 30MW, project value EUR 86mio, wood biomass high efficiency cogeneration, the first and only of its kind in Romania, dedicated to centralized heating of a municipality.

Due diligence report, company restructuring, restructuring of the loan granted by Raiffeisen Bank International, Raiffeisen Bank Romania and Oesterreichische Kontrollbank and achieving a standstill, permanent legal support in operation, coordination of legal support regarding Termica Suceava insolvency and opening the bankruptcy of Termica Suceava, during which Bioenergy is the 2nd creditor according to the value of the claim. In order to secure and economically streamline the project, after the experience of Termica Suceava bankruptcy, we have contributed with drafting the offer and direct negotiation in order to assign the operating of SACET Suceava service delegation contract, successfully finalized by negotiating and signing the contract with the city of Suceava, operationally reuniting thus both the production and operation of SACET in Suceava. Subsequently, we granted legal support for starting the activity of Thermonet Suceava, for the takeover and operation of SACET, for integrating the operation of the two companies, unifying production and operation. We attended and successfully closed the subsequent transaction for the acquisition of Elsaco Electronics shares by Adrem Invest.


The project MTAG SWITZERLAND - permanent legal support worldwide to a Swiss company of manufacturing, engineering, installation, commissioning and operation of equipment and energy efficiency solutions in the field of metallurgy in the degasification of steel domain, with a portfolio of equipment successfully installed in Europe, Middle East, Russia, CIS, China, South Korea, USA, South Africa, with a value of over EUR 150 mio.
